PMMA & PC means a combination of two transparent plastics often used in protective/ballistic glazing:
PMMA — Polymethyl methacrylate (acrylic): very clear, hard and scratch-resistant compared with PC. It provides optical clarity and structural layers, but by itself is relatively brittle.
PC — Polycarbonate: extremely tough and impact-resistant. It flexes and absorbs substantial impact energy rather than shattering like ordinary glass.
In a ballistic visor, PMMA and PC can be laminated in multiple layers so they complement each other: the harder PMMA contributes rigidity and optical properties, while the polycarbonate helps absorb energy and retain fragments.
