Compact rescue litters, drag handles, hypothermia wraps, blankets, and casualty-marking tools are becoming more common in vehicle kits and team bags. These items are not glamorous, but they address a hard reality: treating a casualty is only one part of getting them to higher care.
This does not mean every individual should carry a full prolonged-care load. That would be impractical for most missions. It means leaders should decide who carries what, how the team moves an injured person, where medical resupply sits, and what happens when extraction is slower than expected.
Buy for Credibility, Then Maintain It
Medical gear deserves the same scrutiny as armor, helmets, and communications equipment. Avoid unknown components, questionable copies, and products with unclear origins. For life-saving supplies, reliable manufacturing, intact packaging, recognizable markings, and appropriate storage are not optional details.
